Leadership is a universal skill. In a continually global market, our students require a board prospective, giving them the upper-hand with knowledge and experience for working in dynamic teams, situational leadership, confidence, and management.
Saint Bonaventure’s Leadership Academy will provide students with practical leadership training through an innovative and creative program, challenging ownership of learning and a mastery of leadership principles.
Saint Bonaventure High School is continually adapting to meet the learning needs of our students in a changing world. In a recent interview Lazlo Bock, Vice President of “People Operations” was asked what will help prepare someone for a career at Google. His response was simple: “… what predicts performance is structured interview questions.” Bock went on to explain that preparing someone for today’s business market isn’t about where a person attends college or even a college GPA. Businesses are more interested in versatile employees who can collaborate across lines of business to work toward an objective. Colleges and Universities around the country are also adapting by adding more and more Leadership studies offerings.
The Leadership Academy consists of 2 successive 1-semester classes that can be taken at any time during a student’s 4 years at Saint Bonaventure.
Students will develop a practical understanding of leadership soft skills and theory by discovering their talents and challenges in various leadership principles including, situational leadership, public speaking, planning, program management and social responsibility.
Students will develop personal branding techniques as they relate to values, networking, social media, and professional excellence.
Students will leverage the skills and theories by applying them to a semester program management project including the planning, marketing and implementation.
